Rethink Mental Illness Central Point is a direct access homeless resource service for people that are homeless, sofa surfing, inappropriately housed or at risk of becoming homeless. The service provides a warm and safe environment for all, a communal area for people to relax, hot meals and hot drinks, bathing facilities, clothes washing facilities, a clothes donation store room, a locker room to store personal belongings safely and free phone usage to relevant numbers.
The staff at Central Point provide one to one assessments with individuals to help assess any needs they may have and address accommodation issues, emotional support, help to address substance and alcohol issues, help to address offending behaviours and patterns, support to seek education, training, work voluntary and paid and support in addressing physical health concerns.
The service has its own service user advisory group and regular service meetings as Rethink Mental Illness appreciate the input and guidance from those accessing our service to help guide us in our service delivery. For more information about the service please click on the link below.

Bond Deposit Scheme - Central Point provides a bond deposit scheme for those that meet the required criteria. The bond scheme is an established service providing a bond deposit for people to find their own accommodation. The bond scheme work closely with landlords to help individuals obtain and maintain their own accommodation independently. Please click on the link below for further information.
Bond Deposit Scheme
The bond panel meets weekly to review new and ongoing applications. They provide weekly updates to individuals. The rent bond scheme accepts applications from both Central Point internally and externally from other organisations.
Rough Sleeping - If you are concerned about someone who may be rough sleeping in the City of Portsmouth please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 02392 298791. Please ensure you provide relevant details such as sex, approx age and any other descriptive factors that will help enable our outreach team to locate anyone you are concerned about.
Donations - Central Point welcomes all donations from the public we in particular need of clothes, shoes, toiletries, sleeping bags, flasks and food. All of which are provided to those that use the service.
