Brian Dow, Director of External Affairs at Rethink Mental Illness said,
“When we hear that 300,000 people with mental health issues lose their job every year it makes it incredibly clear that we need to improve how we treat mental health in the workplace in this country. That’s 300,000 stressed families, sleepless nights and worries about bills. Both the economic and human costs of this current situation are far too high.
“This is why we welcome this report, which acts a roadmap to improving mental health at work by setting out a clear vision and long term goals. We’ll now be working with employers to improve attitudes and change practice to ensure no one is locked out of employment.”
