Useful contacts this Christmas
We want to make sure you have the support you need, when you need it this Christmas. While Rethink services, groups and helplines are available for you during the festive season, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to be open on Christmas day.
To counteract this, we have compiled some useful contacts for you to reach out to should you need to.
Please call 111 for non-emergency medical help and 999 for emergencies.
CLIC
CLIC is our very own free online community here to support everyone with their mental health. You can talk to and get advice from others who maybe experiencing something similar to you. It is available everyday and moderated for your health and safety between 8am and 10pm.
Cruse Bereavement Support
Cruse Bereavement Supportis run by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by grief. They'll give you space to talk about your feelings and how you’ve been coping.
LGBT Foundation
Advice, support and information for people identifying as LGBTQ+.
The LGBT Foundation helpline is open on weekdays 9am to 9pm and weekends 10am to 6pm, throughout the Christmas period.
Men's Advice Line
Confidential advice and support for men who have experienced domestic violence and abuse by a current or ex-partner or family member.
It is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm. They are closed on 26 and 27 December 2022, and 2 January 2023.
National Domestic Abuse Helpline by Refuge
Free 24-hour helpline for women who have experienced domestic abuse and violence, with all female advisors and is open every day of the year. Offers a live chat and can help to find refuge accommodation.
Samaritans
Samaritans are open 24/7 for anyone who needs to talk. You can visit some Samaritans branches in person. You can email, chat or even write a letter if that is what you're most comfortable with.
Shout
Confidential 24/7 text service offering support if you're in crisis and need immediate help.
Shout are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
The Silverline by Age UK
Provides support, information, friendship and advice for anyone aged over 55 who may feel lonely or isolated.
The Silver Line is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide
Emotional and practical support and local groups for anyone bereaved or affected by suicide.
