Recognise Me!
Open to: Carers
Our group is open to people supporting a friend or family member in secure services living with mental illness.
We recognise the feelings of frustration, isolation, and often stigma some experience when supporting someone in that setting, not to mention how challenging and overwhelming it can be to navigate through the secure care system.
Recognise Me! provides an opportunity for our members to come together in a safe, non-judgemental space, to feel heard, and seen, so our members can talk freely, provide support and encouragement to one another, and learn from each other so our members feel less isolated, more supported, and empowered in what can be a very disempowering position to be in.
As a voluntary led peer support group, we do not give advice, however we can sign post our members seeking professional support to relevant carers, and advice services.
