The residents of Leek were treated to a stunning wellbeing Christmas light show this week courtesy of the team at the John Hall Wellness Gardens.

More than 500 people across three hours explored the dazzling live advent calendar themed around the five steps to wellbeing.

John Hall Wellness Gardens is a Rethink Mental Illness wellbeing community garden in Staffordshire. They offer space for people living with mental illness to come together and focus on getting their fingers dirty.

The gardens opened in April 2022 and host gardening groups, craft sessions, wellbeing courses, workshops, walking groups and peer support groups. They also grow and sell produce to the public.

Their Walking in a Wellness Wonderland is a shining example of how hard the 30 volunteers work as a team to give back to the community.

The night saw light work and lanterns created by local artists and poems written in a creative writing group hosted at the gardens. Those poems have now been printed onto T-Shirts and you can buy one to support the group here.
