FAQs

• How much is membership?  

  Our membership has two pricing tiers, but don’t let this limit you! 

   

  Our main offer is our waged membership of £27 annually as a minimum, however if you’d like to round this up a little then you can by adding a small donation. This option can be paid either annually or monthly.  

   

  We also offer an unwaged membership of £6 annually as a minimum. Again, if you’d like to round this up a little then please do give what you can by adding a donation. This membership is for people who are unwaged, for example students, people receiving universal credit. This option can be paid annually.  

• Can I renew my membership?  

  Yes, please! We’re looking at having this as a sparkly brand new feature on the website. Once it’s ready, you’ll be able to renew simply by inputting your membership number (found on our most recent communications with you). For now, if you’d like to renew, please contact us by giving us a call on 0121 522 7016 or emailing membership@rethink.org. If you call and don’t get an answer then leave a message and we’ll get back to you. 

   

• How long does my membership last? 

  Typically, all memberships last 1 year. However, if you’re on a rolling direct debit payment then your membership will automatically renew. For other payment types you’ll need to renew your membership every year by contacting us on membership@rethink.org or calling 0121 522 7016. 

• I’ve forgotten my membership number, where can I find it?

  Don’t worry! Your membership number will be on our most recent communications with you (either at the beginning of an email or on your postal address for your Your Voice magazine from summer 2024 onwards). If you can’t find it then just pop us an email at membership@rethink.org or call us on 0121 522 7016 and we’ll be happy to help you. If you call and don’t get an answer then leave a message and we’ll get back to you. 

• What are my payments options? 

  If you’re an unwaged member you can pay annually, either by direct debit payment, card payment (including PayPal), or by sending us a cheque*.

   

  If you’re a waged member you can pay monthly or annually. Monthly payments are made by direct debit and annual payments are made either by direct debit payment, card payment (including PayPal), calling us or by sending us a cheque*. 

   

  We do not accept AMEX payments.  

   

  *Only existing members can pay by cheque. If you send us a cheque, please address it to 'Membership team' and include a note with your name and membership number, clearly stating this is your membership payment.

• How do I update my personal details, including bank details and contact preferences? 

  You can do this all by contacting us at membership@rethink.org or on 0121 522 7016. If you call and don’t get an answer then leave a message and we’ll get back to you.  

   

  If you’re calling us and we don’t pick up then leave us a message and we’ll quickly get back to you. Our phone lines can get quite busy so it’s best to leave us a message with your information and letting us know why you’re calling so that we have all the right information on hand when we call you back.  

• I have an e-membership, does this still exist? 

  Yes! We don’t offer the e-membership to new members anymore as part of our new member offer because we understand the limitations of being a digital member rather than receiving Your Voice in the post. We will always honour your e-membership, however if you would like to switch to being on our new membership offer and receive Your Voice in print via post then let us know. 

• How do I cancel my membership? 

  There are a few ways to cancel your membership but the best way is always to contact us on membership@rethink.org or call us on 0121 522 7016. If you call and don’t get an answer then leave a message and we’ll get back to you. 

   

  If you pay by direct debit, you can cancel your direct debit payment which will mark your membership as inactive but sometimes the systems don’t talk to each other the way they should so we don’t get informed when this happens. If you are on another payment method then your membership will automatically lapse after 1 year. However, we’ll get in touch when you’re about to lapse so it’s best to tell us if you want to cancel instead of us trying to contact you to renew your membership. 

• When will I receive my Welcome Pack?

  You will receive your Welcome Pack within 3 weeks of signing up. If you have any problems with your pack or it hasn’t turned up then contact us at membership@rethink.org or call us on 0121 522 7016 and we’ll be happy to help you. If you call and don’t get an answer then leave a message and we’ll get back to you.  

   

  We're no longer able to send welcome packs to unwaged members. If you'd like to receive a welcome pack, please choose the waged membership option.

• When will my direct debit payment come out of my account?

  It can take up to 10 days for your direct debit payment to come out of your account.

• Is membership a UK-only offer?

  Yes, our membership offer is for UK residents only.

• Can I use my email for multiple memberships?
