What do you want the world to know about living with a mental illness?
15/04/2024
The public's knowledge and understanding of common mental health issues like anxiety and depression has moved in a positive direction over the last 20 years.
But, all too often, we still hear from people living with a severe mental illness that they feel unheard, misunderstood, or ignored.
This Mental Health Awareness Week (13 - 19 May), we want to get the mental health conversation moving.
We want to hear from you
From stigma to discrimination. From waiting lists to an outdated Mental Health Act. From a complex social security system to a lack of housing. We want more people to understand what it means to live with a severe mental illness.
And that's why we're asking you the question:
What is the one thing you want the world to know about living with a mental illness?
Email your answer to digitalcommunications@rethink.org and we might feature it on our social media channels during the week to spread the word.
Thank you for helping us show the world the truth about a life affected by mental illness.
