Synergy Mental Health Alliance
Who are we?
Synergy Sheffield Mental Health Alliance is an alliance of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations, Experts by Experience, NHS and Local Authority Services who are working together across Sheffield to support individuals with a range of mental health needs. You can find out more by watching our introductory video here: Mental health alliance launched in Sheffield | Sheffield Live!
What do we want to achieve?
We want to improve mental health services in Sheffield and ensure that people living with mental health conditions get the right support at the right time. Read more about our vision and mission
What do we do?
We are working together to create a joined-up network of mental health services across Sheffield so there is ‘no wrong door’ for anyone who needs help.
We manage a range of contracts, grants and working groups including the Peer Support Framework, Marginalised Communities focus group and the Mental Health Collaborative.
Coproduction is an essential part of our alliance and all decisions are made collaboratively with people who have lived experience of mental health services in Sheffield and those who care for them.
What is the structure of Synergy?
We have an Independent Chair, Deputy Independent Chair and a Partnership Board made up of ten representative members across the alliance. The names of Partnership Board members can be found below:
How is Synergy managed?
Synergy has a Lead Accountable Body – national charity, Rethink Mental Illness. Rethink supports Synergy by administering and facilitating meetings, actioning decisions made by the Partnership Board and managing contracts, plus much more.
How long has Synergy been running?
Synergy has been developed over the past two years.
How many organisations are part of Synergy?
Synergy currently has over 110 Sheffield-based VCSE organisations (with an interest in mental health) as partners of the alliance, alongside people with lived experience (Experts by Experience/EbEs) and statutory partners (local NHS and authority services).
