Burcott Road is a supported housing service for people aged 18 years and over, who are living with a mental illness, and have low-level needs. It consists of six self-contained flats with residence parking facilities and a communal garden. The service provides housing related support to people who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or a history of housing related problems. People can stay in the service for up to two years. The aim is to move people on to lead more independent lives in their own accommodation. If residents require additional support that isn’t housing related they will be signposted to appropriate services. While there is no staff office onsite, a floating support service is offered.

It has 19 rooms divided into four suites, each with communal kitchens, bathroom and lounge areas within one large building. Rowan House is an intensive support service designed to promote recovery and improve social inclusion for adults with mental illness. It also supports peoples transition back to community living. The service is commissioned and regulated by Wiltshire Council. It is not Care Quality Commission Registered Care, nor is it solely housing-related support, but provides an innovative approach to the delivery of time-limited, outcome-focused care and support tailored to each persons needs. At The Mead we believe that anyone who suffers from mental illness has the opportunity to live life to the full. The Mead offers 24-hour support, so there are always trained staff on hand to support residents and deal with any problems that might arise. Each resident has a ‘key worker’ who takes a special interest in their wellbeing, supporting them in what they wish to achieve while living at the home. This could include taking a college course, improving daily-living skills, working towards managing their own medication, or working to improve self-confidence. Staff work in a person-centred way to support each resident to achieve their goals.
