Rethink Mental Illness provide psychological therapy, namely Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression at Step 1 and 2, in line with national best practice for prisoners in HMP Haverigg, focusing on health education and self-help at Step 1 and at step 2, providing evidence based, low intensity interventions, based on CBT principles which focus on empowerment and self-management of their common mental illnesses. Sheffield Outreach Service provides support to adults living with mental health problems in their own homes and around the community of Sheffield. Support is delivered according to a person-centred and collaborative care plan, and individualised to each client. This can be short-term focused support, up to longer-term to provide ongoing support. Mental Health Recovery Workers support individuals on a 1:1 basis to wok towards recovery and promote independence, by setting goals and providing both practical and emotional support. Workers provide emotional support to manage and maintain mental wellbeing. The Sheffield Crisis House provides short term support to individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis. The service is accessible to adults aged 18 and above, and has 6 beds with communal areas such as kitchen, lounge, and garden. The service is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and staff work in partnership with Sheffield Health and Social Care. Individuals can seek emotional support and guidance throughout their crisis and utilise staff to help develop or re-engage with coping strategies, and daily activities. Support is always person-centred and designed to improve the safety and wellbeing of the individual.
